SimilarityLib is a library of software code for the indexing of 3D models of CH collections. It contains a number of routines that allow a query-based search to be implemented on the basis of a number of geometric and colorimetric shape properties. The library contains algorithms used for the computation of the shape properties, the descriptors, the similarity distances and their combination as used in the geometric search engine currently implemented in the GRAVITATE web GUI.
The algorithms can run stand-alone; within GRAVITATE the geometric search engine in the web interface depends on similarity matrices, mostly generated with this library. The library has a number of dependencies on external libraries, related to each functionality, the IPR for the routines developed withing GRAVITATE is owned by CNR-IMATI.
The library is TRL-4 and is implemented both in C and MATLAB. The GRAVITATE Centre of Excellence will play an important role in supporting the development, sustainability and training related to the wider use and adoption of this library.
